Hey all you Twilighters out there, in case you haven’t heard, the Stephenie Meyer’s sequel to Twilight has finally made it to the big screen. New Moon was released on November 20, 2009.

Though there obviously seemed to be many enthusiastic for the release of New Moon, there were few who could not seem to grasp the hopeless adoration that has evolved from this series.

“All I know is that the people that watch are just fan girls that read the book because they claim their in love with this Edward Cullen character,” said senior Ho Lee.

But what do individuals have to say about surrendering their imagination to the media?

Movies will never come close to books. Last year on November 21, 2008 countless, anxious fans stood in line waiting to be let in to see the production of the ever-beloved Twilight movie.

“I absolutely adored the twilight book, but the movie wasn’t as good as it should have been. I felt like it was poorly done, and I hated it” said junior Talisa Rosario.

There were many who were against the production of Twilight being made into a movie. Most of that apprehension came from the knowledge that the media would not truly express the essence of the book.

“Personally I don’t think that the movie did the book justice. In the movie they left out major parts that made the book what it was. I feel that with a little more time and effort the movie would have been a lot better. From what I saw, it looked like the director was on a very tight deadline, and she didn’t know what to do, so she rushed” said junior Ariel Leiva.

Since the production of the movie, teens along with adults have caught what is now referred to as “Twilight Fever”. From clothing to action figures, Twilight has become a part of millions of lives around the world from Japan to Latin America. Much like Harry Potter, Twilight has made millions from the books and merchandise.

“The first thing you see when you even glance at Hot Topic is a bunch of Twilight and New Moon stuff. I don’t think that Twilight has gotten out of hand though. I actually like most of the merchandise. Like the T-shirts and jewelry are pretty cool,” said senior Samantha Grasso.

Sounds like Twilight has reached new heights. Fans around the world will be cheering for their favorite mythical creature. But who has won the hearts of the audience? Edward or Jacob?
